South of Sardinia: Marmilla

Archaeological museum, nuragic settlement, wild horses, castle, traditional lunch

Day 1: Cagliari / Villanovaforru

Arrive in Cagliari and pick-up the rental car at the airport. Drive to Villanovaforru. Lunch at leisure. Visit the Archaeological Museum and the nuragical settlement. Dinner and overnight at a traditional Sardinian house.

Day 2: Villanovaforru / Barumini / Gesturi

After breakfast, visit the nuraghe of Barumini. Lunch in a traditional Sardinian restaurant. Continue to Gesturi and visit the Giara, a precious and secluded natural oasis, rich in archaeological and natural treasures of extraordinary importance and beauty. Depending on the season, it will possible to spot the unique little horses that only live here. Possibility of guided trekking on foot, bicycle or horseback. Drive back to Villanovaforru. Dinner and overnight at traditional Sardinian house.

Day 3: Villanovaforru / Sanluri / Cagliari

Breakfast and then drive to Cagliari. Stop along the way to a visit a medieval castle in sanluri. Continue to Cagliari. Return the rental car at the airport before departure.

230 euros per person (minimum two persons) - valid from October 1st, 2005 to March 31st, 2006
Single supplement on request - Rates subject to availability

Rates include:

  • two overnights in a typical Sardinian house or 3 star hotel, double room;
  • half board accomodation, plus one traditional lunch (see program);
  • B group car, unlimited mileage.

Not included:

  • flights,
  • tour escort,
  • entrance fees to monuments, museums and caves;
  • drinks at the hotels;
  • car fuel.
